Ms. Burroughs' Introduction Letter
Hello Sinnott Community,
My name is Tawiah Burroughs and I am Sinnott’s new principal. I am so proud to be a new member of the Wildcat Family. My first day was Friday and it was an outstanding day. It was so much fun to meet your children. They were ready to tell me all about what it is like to be a student at Sinnott and the great learning that they have been doing so far this school year. Friday was also a free dress day, so they were showing me their outfits and quizzing me on songs from the movie K-Pop Demon Hunters. Overall, Friday was a terrific first day on campus.
I am grateful to be a part of the Sinnott Community and I am looking forward to getting to know all the members of the community. Later this week, I will be sending out information about a principal’s meet and greet, so that I have an opportunity to introduce myself in person. In order to begin to introduce myself to the community, I will be attending some of the conferences that are occurring this week.
A little bit about me:
I grew up in San Jose. I am both a former student and employee of Berryessa Union School District. I began my educational career teaching 5th grade at Northwood Elementary School and I spent 11 years as an intermediate teacher. For 4 years, I was an instructional coach supporting teachers with classroom instruction. I spent one year as an assistant principal at Sierramont Middle School. Then, I spent 3 years as the principal of Laneview Elementary School until the school was closed due to consolidation at the end of the 24-25 school year. Now, I am thrilled to be working with Sinnott’s staff. They have been so welcoming which lets me know that is the environment they are creating for our students as well.
Feel free to reach out:
There may be times this year when you have a question or concern. Please feel free to reach out. If you would like to schedule an appointment, please call the school office at (408) 635-2674 or contact me via email at tburroughs@musd.org. I ask that if your concern involves your child’s teacher, please speak to them first. If you feel that your issue is still unresolved, then please call me so that we can work together for a resolution. Thank you for your continued support in strengthening our school community. I look forward to meeting you soon.
Sincerely, Tawiah Burroughs
