School News and Updates

It has been so wonderful getting to know all your children. Sinnott is such a welcoming environment and I am glad to be a part of the community. Please consider all the various ways that you can support the school, like attending School Site Council and PTA meetings. The first School Site Council Meeting will be October 28th @ 2:15 pm via Google Meet. Please join us and consider running for one of the open positions on the board. More information to come.

Upcoming October Events

Unity Day is Wednesday, October 22nd. Students are encouraged to wear orange. Mark your calendars for Fall Festival on Friday, October 24th. The event is open from 5:00 pm-8:00 pm. Volunteers are still needed so please sign up via links sent out from the PTA or your child's teacher. It will be a fun night and we will look forward to seeing you that evening.
A calendar shows October 24th, with a red background and white text.
Students in Costumes

Halloween Parade

Sinnott's Halloween Parade will take place Friday, October 31st at 8:15 am. Parents are allowed on the blacktop to watch the parade. Please do not disturb the classrooms while waiting for the parade.
Students are invited to wear their costumes to school and stay in them all all day. Costumes can not include weapons, blood, or be extremely grotesque. Please save those costumes for Halloween Night.

Parking Lot and Student Pick Procedures

The staff parking lot is not for student pick up and drop off. Do not pull into the lot unless you are Sinnott or MUSD staff.
In order to keep the Sinnott Community safe, it is important to be respectful and follow the pick up and drop off rules. Follow the directions of all staff as they are directing traffic in the loop. Do not pull around vehicles in the loop. Be sure to drive carefully because students and families are walking.
PBIS

PBIS Spotlight

Here at Sinnott we are working on reminding our students about the appropriate behavior on the playground. We are seeing a rise of students not keeping their hands to themselves when expressing their frustrations. One of our R.O.A.R.S. expectations under S for Safety is keep hands, feet, and objects to self. Please talk to your child about alternatives to hitting first when angry.
